Bio
TAI, Oluwatayo Omolana, was born on October 10th 1994 in Kano, Nigeria. Her parents moved her and her siblings to the United States when she was 10 years old. Music has always been part of her life as she and her family would listen to Fela, Ebenezer Obey, Baba Ara, etc consistently.
Her grandfather was also in a band of his own. At the age of 12, she was at church when she realized she wanted to sing. She later told her parents and since then joined the school and church choir. TAI has always told people she did not realize she has a voice.
She began writing her own music during her last undergrad semester at Towson University. She graduated in the fall of 2016 with a BA in Exercise Science. Right after her graduation, she began recording her music. TAI then released her first single FLY, which was inspired from the song Blackbird by Nina Simone.
She released two other singles right after, WISH and TEN. TAI wants to inspire and promote Love through her music. The genre of music she sings is Inspirational with a mix of Afro-Soul. She continues to work towards her dream and is not letting anything derail her passion.
